Handcrafted using traditional techniques, this bangle reinterprets our original all-silver filigree design through a two-tone lens. Square filigree panels are framed by the interplay of oxidised silver and antique gold, enhancing the depth and intricacy of the latticework and creating a bold statement with old-world craftsmanship and modern definition.

Adjustable open-cuff style with a flexible fit
Features a screw opening and closing mechanism - unscrew partially until the cuff opens, slide onto the wrist, then screw back in to secure.

Antique silver naturally oxidises over time when exposed to oxygen, forming a darkened surface known as patina. This gradual oxidation is what gives vintage and archival silver its depth, contrast, and character.

Each MAABAE piece is intentionally finished using a specialised oxidizer ion process after plating to create this vintage-inspired darkened finish. This process enhances the shadows and textures of the design and gives every piece its antique look. Your jewellery will continue to oxidise naturally over time.

Our hinge lock bangles are crafted in one universal size, designed to fit most wrists comfortably.

This style has 18cm circumference so the key is simply checking whether 18 cm wrapped around your wrist feels comfortable.

How to measure my wrist
  1. Wrap a soft measuring tape into an 18cm circle
  2. Place it around the narrowest part of your wrist
  3. If it feels natural and secure - not too tight, not too loose - then this bangle size is right for you.

Cultural Expression

For centuries, chunky silver bangles and kadas were worn by India’s and much of South East Asia's nomadic and tribal communities as everyday adornment. We reinterpret these archival forms through a modern lens - refining the silhouettes with cleaner edges, peeling back ornamentation, and engineering each piece to be lighter and more wearable for everyday life. MAABAE was born from the philosophy that when we blend our cultures, we find home.

Our design language is rooted in this idea. Inspired by the heritage of archival silver and reimagining it through a modern lens for today’s wardrobe. I’ve always been drawn to the history held in old-world jewelry - its weight, its patina, its soul. Every piece we create lives between past and present: bold, sculptural forms designed to move with the contemporary silhouette, while carrying the spirit of where they came from.
